Baz Bamigboye reports that from 12th June 2017, the role of Jean Valjean, in the West End favourite Les Miserables, will be played by Killian Donnelly, fresh from his role on Broadway in Kinky Boots.
Killian is a Les Mis veteran, having been a swing back in 2008. During his time in the show, he stepped in to play the lead role as an emergency cover multiple times. He was promoted to the more prominent role of Enjolras in the 2010 cast change.
Since then, he has gone from strength to strength, appearing in Billy Elliott and originating the leading roles in The Commitments, Memphis and Kinky Boots.
Further cast changes include, Carley Stenton (Hollyoaks, Shrek, Legally Blonde) as Fantine, Steven Meo and Jacqueline Tate as the Thenardiers, Karis Jack as Eponine and Hyoie O'Grady as Enjolras.
Paul Wilkins and Charlotte Kennedy will continue in their roles as Marius and Cosette. Jeremy Secomb, having just returned to the role of Javert after time off to play Sweeney Todd in the US, will continue for an extra four weeks after cast change, leaving on 15th July 2017, when Hayden Tee returns to the role.
