New UK and Ireland Tour for Legally Blonde
From September 2017, Legally Blonde will be on tour around the UK and Ireland, led by Lucie Jones.
27th April 2017
After starring as Elle Woods in Leicester, a production Koala was lucky enough to see and can say was brilliant, Lucie Jones is once again taking on the leading role in Legally Blonde. Jones is currently on tour with Rent, playing Maureen, and will be representing the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest next month.
It has been announced that she will be starring alongside Rita Simmons (Eastenders), as Paulette Bonafonte, and Bill Ward (Coronation Street, Emmerdale), as Professor Callahan. David Barrett and Liam Doyle will play Emmett and Warner, respectively. They will be directed and choreographed by Anthony Williams, with James McCullough as musical director.
Legally Blonde tells the story of Elle, a girl who is dumped because she isn’t “serious” enough for her boyfriend, Warner, who is heading off to Harvard Law. Elle decides to take matters into her own hands to prove she is serious, by getting into Harvard herself and determined to make Warner regret his choices.
The full cast includes Laura Harrison, Helen Petrovna, Ben Harlow, Nancy Hill, Rebecca Stenhouse, Delycia Belgrave, Rachel Grundy, Lucyelle Cliffe, Rosie Needham, Alexandra Wright, Sally Writh, Mark Peachey, Michael Hamway, Felipe Bejarano, Brett Shields, Connor Collins, Emma Prosser and Craig Tyler.
The tour opens at the Churchill Theatre, Bromley, from 14-23 September 2017, and will travel to High Wycombe, Bristol, Woking, Northampton, Rhyl, Sheffield, Wolverhampton, Southampton, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Belfast, Dublin, Stoke, Canterbury, Norwich, Leeds, Blackpool, Sunderland, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Inverness, Nottingham, Birmingham, Salford, Liverpool and Brighton, before culminating at the New Wimbledon Theatre, from 18-23rd June 2018.
